Jennifer Shorto-About

A long time textile collector, Jennifer Sorto‘s new collection was presented at Maison et Objet this January. She uses mostly patterns that come from her own collection of antique West African textiles from the 1950′s,  they are minimalist quality, and beautifully modern and printed in Milan.

‘I collect textiles because of their power, beauty and craftsmanship. My viewpoint is more artistic, than historical. I choose a piece based on formal visual criteria and some knowledge of its cultural background and then it is about whether it succeeds in bringing together the elements which will have the ability to inspire and surprise me amidst our contemporary setting.’-Jennifer Shorto

In the last few years, she has been collaborating with decorators bringing precious textiles to a variety of projects

She has appeared in a wide range of magazines such as World of Interiors, Vogue Living, U.S. Vogue, Elle Decor.
